Spring 2013 & more.........

Revente is honored to have won "Best Consignment Shop" by the readers of Columbia Metropolitan Magazine. Thank you!

THINK SPRING: Yes, it's damp and chilly outside but we'll start accepting Spring items for consignment on Monday, Jan. 21. Our customers will be looking for early transitional pieces in clothing, so think cotton, long sleeves, jackets, skirts, pants & dresses.
(Hold onto to those strapless dresses, spaghetti strap tops, sandals, etc until March or so.)
Please make sure you call ahead for an appointment (803.256.3076) if you have 15 items or more-we want to get your things out on the selling floor as quickly as possible.

PROM: We always have so many young women coming in to shop prom so spread the word and let's help make it a memorable night for them (and easier on their parent's wallet!).
Dresses should be in current style-no more than 3 years old, clean and free of any damages. Sizes 0-26 accepted.

CHARITY: Our sister shop, Revente's Last Call, may be undergoing a name change soon due to negotiations with Neiman Marcus re their clearance stores which are named "Last Call". Whatever happens our mission stays the same supporting The Women's Shelter by donating 100% of our net profit each month. In just a little over two years we have donated almost $50,000.00 and hope to continue to fund the shelter for so many of the things they need. Regardless of the shop's name we will be still be doing business as usual at 3017 Millwood Ave.

Our "rock n roll twins", Sid and Nancy, turn 6 in February. Sid and Nancy has turned out to be a huge hit with both guys and gals ages 13 and up. Buy-Sell-Trade with a little twist. Check them out, right next door to Revente.

Last but not least, we love having this little guy join us at work everyday.  Max has been with us since late July and is quite popular with our customers and neighbor merchants.

PS: All three of our shops are on Facebook and keep you updated daily on new arrivals, sales, special events, etc. so "like" us and stay up to the minute.

New digs for Sid and Nancy

Mama Revente and her Sid and Nancy peeps were crazy busy this past week relocating Sid's to 733 Saluda Ave., between Revente and Drip Coffee. 733 is where I originally opened Revente in 1992 so there's some good karma in that space.

Yes, the space is smaller than our previous shop but we LOVE it and think you will, too. Stop in and see for yourself.

A full day of resale shopping!

For those of you who love to shop resale, yesterday's bus tour here in Columbia was a must. 6 shops, treats & discounts.
We met at Curious Closet in Irmo and shopped there and at their charity shop a few doors down.
I scooped up a fabulous Dana Buchman sweater and some vintage style earrings plus several other items.

Lady Chablis, our hostess for the tour, arrived and off we went.

Next stop: Roundabouts, which is HUGE and in the former Steinmart on Two Notch Rd.
Fabulous finds for all (including some furniture purchases which had to be picked up later).
One of the owners, Beth, made delicious cookies for our crowd and was happy to meet Lady and the rest of the crew.

We headed to Revente's Last Call (my 10 week old "baby") where everyone oohed and ahhed over the prices and selection of merchandise.

Five Points was next, with both Revente and Sid & Nancy as stops. (I was too busy serving wine to get any pics at S&N, but everyone seemed to enjoy both shops).

Last stop was Consignment First in Harbinson. Tons of furniture and home decor.
Back to Curious Closet, where we ended the day with bags full of bargains & big smiles.
We're hoping to have another bus tour in the spring, so let us know if you want to be included.

A new shop & more

For several years I entertained the idea of opening another shop, one that would recycle all of the merchandise we donated at Revente (items we did not accept for consignment and sale merchandise). It finally came together mid August and  Revente's Last Call opened their doors on Wednesday, Sept. 1.

RLC is a "charity resale shop" meaning all of our profits are donated to charity. We are partnering with
The Women's Shelter in Columbia SC, which has helped thousands of women since it opened.

RLC will celebrate with a grand opening on Friday, Sept. 17 from 6-8pm and hope you'll join us and see what we're all about. *Bring a donation of coffee, powdered creamer, sugar or sweet munchies & receive 10% off your purchase.

Patti (our manager), Kathy (director of The Women's Shelter) and Debbie aka Ms. Revente.

We are located at 3015 Millwood Ave., between De Loache florist & Columbia Dry Cleaners

Look for this sign on the building and you'll know you're there.
